Dixie was very well-known in Jersey to many members of JDHA and KCJ. During her long and distinguished showing career, Dixie won many classes in Jersey, Guernsey and UK, including Best in Show. In later years Dixie was used mainly as a Junior Handling Dog, ”training” many of today’s best Jersey handlers, and presented her handlers with many first winnings at various Jersey Shows.
Dixie sadly passed over the rainbow bridge on 18 March 2026, short of her 14th birthday, and is much missed by Jenny & Steve Lawson, but leaving behind numerous wonderful offspring and grandchildren.
Tributes to Dixie:
We are so very sad to hear this news and send you both much love and strength. RIP beautiful Dixie. Dixie was an absolute sweetheart and we thank you so much for allowing Ciara to experience show handling with her and to be there when her beautiful litter were born. The opportunity to show her gave Ciara so much confidence handling dogs and we hold very special memories of those days. Our thoughts are with you both. Love Rita, Peter, Ciara Evans.
Dixie was a special girl. I had the privilege to handle her for Jenny on occasions, at the Jersey shows. Lots of love to you both. Sam Kezourec
Dixie was a dog in a million. The patience she had with everyone was amazing. She helped lots of juniors (myself included) in learning how to handle dogs and she never, ever put a foot wrong. I know the loss of Dixie will leave a huge void in junior handling as she was known and loved by so many.
I am so sorry Jenny and Stephen for the loss of your beautiful girl but I do hope the great memories of Dixie the ‘super dog’ will stay with you forever. Sending lots of love your way. Emma Parkin
